This memorial cairn on May 22, 1951, was unveiled by Col. M.V. McQueen, OBE, ED, Principal, Westdale Secondary School
and dedicated to the Glory of God by Major the Rev. Crawford Scott in the presence of the teachers, students, and many honoured guests.

This staff is erected is erected and dedicated to the constant memory of the students from this school
who during the Second World War, of their own free will, gave their lives to Canada that the flag of freedom
should continue to rise over the land.
